70,000 miles
History
The car was bought brand new in 1967 by Eldon Dedini of Monterey, California, USA. Eldon was the cartoonist on Playboy magazine and The New Yorker.
The car was always garaged at his ranch and loved.
Eldon died in 2007 and the car stayed in his estate until 2011 when it passed to a family friend James Carrington, who sold it to a British Karmann Ghia specialist in the UK in 2015, who sold it to the current owner in 2016.
It had a no expense spared overhaul in California at 50,000 miles: original engine rebuilt, new gear box and carbureter. More recently it has all mains electrics replaced, along with the addition of brand new white wall tyres and a Karmann ragtop. Original roof plate comes with the car.
There is also a huge amount of history going back 52 years, including all invoices, service records, books, photos, letters, videos etc
